John Mitchell's (mostly DotNetNuke) Blog - Made it to LA
 Monday, September 12, 2005

Just as I was leaving Milwaukee my boss calls to tell me that he saw on the news where LA had lost electricity to a huge portion of the downtown area.  I thought he must be joking, but he wasn't.  So I figured I might end up having to stay in Phoenix for a while.  Got to Phoenix and the flight was on time and not a hitch getting my car and driving the three blocks to the hotel.

Turns out that it was a just a worker that plugged in something wrong. Wow, plug in something wrong and it takes out a major portion of the power grid?  Lets us know just how vulnerable we are.  I have read that the next real terrorist action will probably be a technical hacking of the power grid, I really hope this puts a lot of focus on strengthening that area.

But hey, I'm here and got a few free hours on the plane to check out Master Pages, Navigation and Themes for ASP.Net 2.0.  There's some good stuff there, and I'm sure we can incorporate it into DotNetNuke. Even thhough we already have most of everything (and more) that is offered from those new features.

For anyone interested in taking a peek, there is already a bunch of good articles on the net, but this little nugget out of Dino's new book the best I found.

Ok, time to get some rest, so I can get up early and make my way to the convention center.
